Approximately 26% of the Malaysian Bar have indicated that Civil Litigation is one of their five key practice areas (based on data obtained from the Areas of Practice form attached with the Sijil Annual and Practising Certificate forms 2016).
From 1 July 2014 to-date, a total of 21 face-to-face training events were conducted in this area by private providers, the Bar Council and State Bar Committees, benefiting 873 Members, pupils and third parties.
Between 1 July 2014 and 31 December 2015, a total of 23,079 participants attended events conducted by the Bar Council and State Bar Committees (based on attendance records received to date).
From 1 July 2014 to-date, a total of 58 face-to-face training events were conducted by the Bar Council and State Bar Committees in the area of Human Rights, which focuses on greater police accountability, Prevention of Terrorism Act 2015, Sedition Act 1948, child and youth justice system, and a host of other topics benefiting more than 1,200 Members, pupils and third parties.
